Massif du Sud Regional Park

General description

Twenty summits, among which the highest of Chaudière-Appalaches (917 metres high), vast panoramas, deep valleys, torrents and crystalline waterfalls, a canyon, shelters under cliffs, old-growth forests with enormous yellow birches, amazing wildlife and very few mosquitoes – that is the Massif du Sud Regional Park. The Park boasts 71 km of safe hiking trails (marked out, signposted, patrolled) and 35 km of trails for hybrid or mountain bicycles. Ten kilometres of trails are wheelchair accessible. Lookout points can be reached by car. The Park rents rustic campsites, shelters, cabins and a yurt. The imposing rope course features games, including a rope bridge and a castle labyrinth. The Park offers guided tours, nature interpretation activities and geocaching. Leashed dogs are allowed.

Rope course

Can you overcome your fear and cross the river while keeping your equilibrium on our shaky rope bridge? Watch out! Just like a fly caught in a spider web, you may well stay imprisoned in our endless suspended net tunnel. Emotion guaranteed! You will then have to find your way to the top of our castle labyrinth. If, unfortunately, you get lost on your way up, you may well never find the exit anymore! As you take a run-up on our catapult, you will reach unexpected heights! Do not let the rope slip through your hands though, or you could end up in the outer space! The Massif du Sud Regional Park challenges you and your whole family to go through its 17-stage fitness trail. Fun guaranteed!

To make you appreciate your outdoor experience, the Massif du Sud Regional Park offers you a variety of places to spend a confortable night in the forest. For the nature-lover looking for a good dose of confort and an original type of accomodation, our yurt and boreal tents are the best pick. Furnished with mattresses, cookware and a propane stove, these lodgings will impress you with their design. Our 4 wood cabins, 3 of which have a mezzanine, are the choice of visitors in search of a warm and cozy place to spend the night in the wilderness. Finally, for the more adventurous, our shelters and prospector tents represent an economical alternative to our other types of accomodation, with more confort than camping. Whatever your choice, our team will do everything to make your stay memorable!

The Massif du Sud Regional Park boasts about 30 rustic campsites perfectly located in the heart of the forest. All of our sites are tree-shaded and at a good distance from the neighbouring site. There is a stream or a river near every site. The beauty of the nature, the quietness and the absence of mosquitoes makes our campground a perfect place for people in search of peace and wilderness. On every site, you will find a sizeable spot for a tent, a picnic table, a fire pit with a grill, plus firewood (free of charge) and an outdoor toilet nearby. There are also flush toilets and hot showers in the welcome center. Located at the heart of the Regional Park and right next to its hiking trails, our campground allows visitors to extend their visit in our exceptional landscape.
