Mushroom picking: Introduction and identification

For the pleasure of walking through the forest as much as for the pleasure of eating your harvest, mushroom picking is a great activity. But, for it to stay pleasant, it is important to be able to differentiate an edible from an inedible or poisonous mushroom. At Massif du Sud regional park you can learn the difference with an experienced guide and get acquainted with mycology through a workshop including some theory on the mushrooms, harvesting and tasting.

Mycology excursion to the summits

This activity is for those who have already taken the introductory course in mushroom picking and who wish to take their learning further. For this second part, the day will be entirely devoted to mushroom picking during a long ascent to the summit of Mount Saint-Magloire. The mushroom guide will accompany the participants throughout the harvest. A good physical ability is required to reach the mossy fir trees on the mountain.
