Join the Patrol Team for Parc du Massif du Sud!
Our patrol team is looking for new volunteers!
Passionate about the outdoors? Interested in joining a dynamic team? Care about people’s health and safety? Do you enjoy outdoor activities such as alpine hiking (mountain skiing or backcountry routes), mountain biking, cross-country skiing, ski hok, or fat biking? Then you have the right profile!
Eligibility Criteria / Skills Required
Be 18 years of age or older;
Have intermediate or advanced skills in hiking, mountain biking, or skiing (cross-country or off-piste, depending on your interests);
Take* or have completed a first aid course from a recognized organization. Costs incurred for the training will be reimbursed by Parc du Massif du Sud;
Complete* Parc-specific training (emergency plan, equipment);
Possess the appropriate technical knowledge and know how to apply it (ability to act);
Be available for 6 full days or 12 half-days during the season;
Be available for first aid training at Parc du Massif du Sud;
Complete the theoretical training (readings, exercises, video modules, and online exam) from home.
*If you already hold a valid patroller certification, winter first aid training is not required.
Patroller Responsibilities
Patrollers primarily roam the various trails and routes at Parc du Massif du Sud, according to traffic and needs. Their roles include:
Ensuring safety and promoting accident prevention throughout the trail network;
Securing areas during interventions;
Administering first aid;
Assisting with the transport of injured individuals;
Providing information to users about best practices;
Raising awareness among visitors about Parc rules.
Mountain ski patrollers will be responsible for securing more remote areas dedicated exclusively to this sport (backcountry routes).
