Traffic information and trail closures starting Wednesday, August 21, 2024 – 12 PM | Trail du Massif du Sud – 8th Edition
Due to the 8th edition of the Trail du Massif du Sud on Saturday, August 24, we must implement the following restrictions in certain areas of our territory:
💚 Thank you for your valuable cooperation in ensuring the success of this event. Your safety and that of the 750 participants, along with their friends and family, is our top priority!
Here’s what you need to know:
FROM WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 21, NOON, UNTIL SUNDAY, AUGUST 25, 8 AM
⛔ No parking at any time in front of or near the Pavillon Desjardins.
⛔ No vehicle traffic allowed in front of or near the Pavillon Desjardins. Visitors will need to walk to the Pavillon Desjardins.
⛔ Those with reserved parking for their accommodations (Camping Trois-Fourches Ouest, yurt, base camp, passerelles refuge, etc.) must park in front of the reception (P2) or in parking lots P1, P3, and P4 near the reception.
✅ An additional parking lot (P5) will be available at the Massif du Sud Ranch, located 900 meters from parking lots P3 and P4.
RECEPTION DESK, OUTDOOR KIOSK, AND EQUIPMENT RENTAL – SATURDAY, AUGUST 24, 2024
⛔ The reception desk will be closed in the morning and will reopen at 11 AM until 8 PM.
⛔ No equipment or mountain bike rentals available all day.
✅ The outdoor kiosk will be open to serve you from 6 AM.
✅ Please prioritize purchasing your access pass online at our website: www.massifdusud.com
VEHICLE TRAFFIC – SATURDAY, AUGUST 24, 2024
⛔ From 5 AM to 11 AM | NO vehicle movement allowed in all park areas. This includes the Trois-Fourches sector near the Pavillon Desjardins and for all guests staying or camping.
🎉 All movement must be on foot. Enjoy cheering on the runners in front of the Pavillon Desjardins or directly at your accommodation or campsite.
✅ All departures from accommodations (ready-to-camp, refuge, and camping) are postponed to 11:15 AM for key collection.
✅ All arrivals for accommodations or camping on that day are scheduled for 3 PM only. No possibility of collecting keys before then.
HIKING – SATURDAY, AUGUST 24, 2024
⛔ From 5 AM to 11 AM | No hiking allowed. We invite you to go to the Pavillon Desjardins to cheer on the runners.
⛔ From 5 AM to 4 PM | COMPLETE CLOSURE of all trails in the Vallée du Milieu, including: Mont Chocolat, Passerelles, Parois, Exploration, and Éoliennes trails.
✅ From 11 AM | Trails in the Vallée du Ruisseau Beaudoin area are open for hiking: Vieille Forêt, Crête des grives, Ravages, Contrées de l’est, and Mont Saint-Magloire.
✅ Regular rates apply: $9/adult, $4.50 for children aged 13 to 17, free for children 12 and under.
MOUNTAIN BIKING – SATURDAY, AUGUST 24, 2024
⛔ From 5 AM to 1 PM | The mountain bike network is CLOSED. No mountain biking allowed in the park.
⛔ The entrance near the Pavillon Desjardins will be closed all day.
⛔ Multi-use trails will be inaccessible all day.
⛔ No mountain bike rentals available all day.
✅ From 1 PM | The mountain bike network is OPEN. However, access to the network must be through the ÉRABLES SECTOR or the MORNES SECTOR. The public cannot use the multi-use trails throughout the day.
✅ Regular rates apply: $12/adult, $4.50 for children aged 13 to 17, free for children 12 and under.
ROPE COURSE
✅ Open from 8 AM. ⛔ Movement restricted to the Passerelles course. ✅ Regular rates apply: $12/adult, $4.50 for children aged 13 to 17, free for children 12 and under.
SPECTATORS (ADULTS AND CHILDREN) | TRAIL DU MASSIF DU SUD
If you are only present to cheer on a participant, a fee of $5 per adult will be charged to each spectator or supporter. Children aged 17 and under can enter for free to reach the Pavillon Desjardins.
On Saturday, August 24, gourmet partners will be gathered in front of the Pavillon Desjardins for the 8th edition of the Trail du Massif du Sud. Bring cash to enjoy their products available in the partner area from 8 AM to 4 PM.
